James D. Stoner, P.S.M.
President

Mr. Stoner is a second generation Land Surveyor, with over forty years of surveying experience in South Florida. He began his surveying career at Williams, Hatfield, & Stoner, Inc. working from the bottom as a Rodman, all the way up to Vice President of the Surveying Department. Mr. Stoner founded Stoner & Associates, Inc. in 1988, based on the philosophy that attention to detail and quality work would create a successful firm. He manages all aspects of the firm’s growth and development. Mr. Stoner has supervised both small and large scale surveying projects. His firm has successfully completed numerous roadway and other various projects, while working directly with the clients and consultants.

Walter De La Rocha, P.S.M.
Project Surveyor

With over twenty-five years of experience under his belt, Mr. De La Rocha has extensive experience in ALTA/ACSM Land Title Surveys, Design Surveys, preparing Digital Terrain Models (DTM), Right-of-Way Control Surveys, Right-of-Way Monumentation, Utility Surveys, Parcel Staking, Boundary Survey, and Topographic Surveys. During his twenty years of employment with Stoner & Associates Mr. De La Rocha has earned himself an outstanding reputation for the quality of his work. Mr. De La Rocha is proficient in CAiCE, Eagle Point, EFB, MicroStation, Carlson Survey, and AutoCAD.

Douglas Stoner
Field Crew Supervisor

During his eighteen years of employment with Stoner & Associates Mr. Stoner has worked his way from a Rodman to a Field Crew Supervisor. Over the course of his extensive field work, Mr. Stoner has become proficient in all of the types of surveys performed by Stoner & Associates, including Boundary, Topographic, and Construction Layout Surveys. Mr. Stoner now serves as the Field Crew Supervisor. He oversees the daily operations of four field crews, employee safety procedures, fleet management, and equipment management and maintenance, among other responsibilities. He also spends a vast majority of his time on job sites training employees in the use of equipment, and overseeing the quality of the data collected by the Field Crews. Mr. Stoner is proficient in all of the types of equipment utilized by Stoner & Associates, and specializes in Topcon and GPS. He is also very knowledgeable in Carlson Survey and AutoCAD.

Damian Rodriguez
Survey/CAD Technician

Mr. Rodriguez has currently been with Stoner & Associates for over seven years. Prior to his time at Stoner & Associates, Mr. Rodriguez spent over nine years as a Survey/CAD Technician for other survey firms. Mr. Rodriguez currently does most of the drawings needed at Stoner & Associates, and has become a valuable member of our team.

Leigh Anne Stoner
Office Manager

Mrs. Stoner has been with Stoner & Associates for over three years serving as the Office Manager. Prior to her time at Stoner & Associates, Mrs. Stoner has spent over ten years in the field of accounting and office management. Mrs. Stoner oversees all of Stoner & Associates’ accounting and payroll, day-to-day management of the office, in addition to management and delegation of office projects to the office staff, and overseeing daily staff functions.

Robert Borges, P.S.M.
Senior Crew Chief

Mr. Borges has been in the Land Surveying profession for over thirty years, with twenty-two years spent at Stoner & Associates, and licensed as a Professional Land Surveyor for over fourteen years. Mr. Borges currently serves as Stoner & Associates’ Senior Crew Chief. His extensive knowledge allows him the ability to tackle our toughest projects, and to teach and assist our other crews. Mr. Borges has extensive experience in all of the types of surveys performed by Stoner & Associates, and specialized in Boundary, Topographic, and Aviation Surveys.
