Stoner & Associates was founded by James D. Stoner, P.S.M. in 1988.

Mr. Stoner was formerly Vice President of Land Surveying at Williams Hatfield and Stoner, Inc. a prominent  engineering, land surveying and planning firm located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.  As the son of one of the founding partners of WH&S, it was Mr. Stoners dream to one day start his own land surveying firm. That dream was realized in September of 1988 when he opened James D. Stoner & Associates (later renamed to Stoner & Associates) .  From the inception it was Mr. Stoner’s goal to work on challenging projects and produce high quality survey maps.  That dream has been realized and continues to this day. Today Stoner & Associates has over twenty five employees including four licensed professional surveyors and mappers supervising six survey field crews. Stoner & Associates maintains offices in Fort Lauderdale, and Naples, Florida.


Team work and highly qualified personnel are the foundation of our company.  Our team of licensed professional land surveyors has worked together for over ten years.  During this time we have honed our skills and developed a team that can make accurate  surveys seamlessly and efficiently.  We also have developed the ability to work as a team member participating on large projects.  We know that other professionals rely on our survey products for the basis of their projects and we take our responsibilities seriously.



A premium is placed upon accurate research and keeping abreast of changing laws and practices affecting land surveying and land ownership.

By exchanging ideas through participation in professional associations and societies, and continuing education through attending workshops and seminars, our surveyors and related professionals pursue their continuing excellence to achieve the best possible results for our clients.

Updating our equipment and computer software enables us to keep current with our clients needs.  Utilizing GPS and automated data collection together with Cad drafting enables us to remain cost effective and innovative.
